Summary:
The Pipeline Mechanic is responsible for safe and efficient maintenance of the mechanical equipment associated with the High Plains Pipeline System. The Mechanic performs maintenance and repairs on pumps, meters, valves, mixers, gear boxes, motors and other crude facilities and pipeline equipment and will maintain records for maintenance and inspections to ensure integrity and compliance of assets.
Key
Responsibilities:
Responsible for maintenance, repair and upkeep of positive displacement, gear and centrifugal pumps:
Repair and installation of meters and metering equipment.
Repair and installation and packing of valves and valve components.
Repair and installation of mixers and gear boxes.
Repair and installation of motors and motor controls.
Responsible for vibration monitoring and pump and motor alignment
Inspections and documentation of all mechanical equipment.
Inspection and calibration of pressure relief valves and other pressure controlling devices.
Responsible for inspections and visual checks of valves, meters, gauges and pump equipment.
Work with the Maintenance supervisor in writing maintenance procedures and training maintenance personnel on those procedures.
Will plan and record activities utilizing SAP
Perform non-routine/non-emergency support such as:
Project/construction support.
Procedure/drawing/training material development.
HAZOP/MOC assistance.
Removing or returning equipment from/to service.
Permit Authorization, ATW issuance and verification (hot works, confined space), etc.
EDUCATION and
Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Prefer either a technical certificate in mechanical maintenance or 5 years of experience in industry mechanical maintenance.
Must demonstrate a commitment to understanding and complying with all Federal, State, Local and Company regulations, policies, guidelines and procedures.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, to include holidays and weekends when required.
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record is required.
Good verbal/written communication skills, decision making skills and strong work ethic.
Able to assume responsibility, work with little or no supervision, be flexible, perform duties in a professional and reliable manner.
Ability to read and comprehend P&ID; and PFD drawings.
Self-motivated individual able to work independently or in a team environment and willing to learn.
